At Formitize, we are looking back on a successful 2022 where we welcomed many new users and were able to launch powerful new updates to simplify business processes. We are looking forward to another year packed with innovation to help you work smarter, not harder.

In this blog we are looking back at the major releases we have launched in 2022 and how you can use them to start 2023 in the best possible way.

Formitize continuously develops innovative solutions that enables businesses to automate their processes and increase their efficiency. Through continuous innovation we help thousands of businesses all over the world to stay ahead of their competition, finding more balance between work and personal time and reducing the amount of time spent on business administration. 

2022 has been a major Innovation year for us. With a brand new website, a complete new Dashboard design, the release of Smart Tables and the brand-new Smart Job Routing add-on and many more releases we can look back on a successful year.

We continuously aim to provide a platform that allows our smaller clients to compete with the big guys, whilst at the same time offering our larger clients a complete platform to manage all their business administration needs, business processes and workflows.

2023 is going to be another year filled with innovation. At the end of this article we will give you a little taste of what is to come. 

Major Releases in 2022

Throughout 2022 we have launched thousands of features, from small updates to major new releases. Small updates are brought to you without too much hassle; they often help speed up loading time, improve the layout of your Formitize dashboard and/or help you complete a task more quickly and efficiently.

Major Releases are usually feature updates that are requested by many of our users OR features that add a major value to the way our clients can do business. Major releases usually take multiple weeks or months to complete and are often brought to our users free of charge.

Innovation is one of our most important value propositions as we aim to increase the value of our product often without charging our clients additional costs. That’s what we call Smart Innovation!

Here is a list of our most important feature releases of 2022 and a teaser of what’s coming to your Formitize experience in 2023.

1. New Website

What: We redesigned our website with a brand new layout and content.

Why: To help our current and future customers locate the information they are looking for more easily. For example: it has become so much easier to get in touch with us via chat, to book a demo as a new user or to sign up for a free trial.

Benefits: Running a successful business takes a lot of time. We want to make sure our current and future clients are able to locate the information they are looking for in a quick and easy manner. Our new website also has an improved loading time and is easier accessible on mobile devices.

Kickstarting your 2023:  Having trouble finding the link to your Formitize Dashboard? When you browse to https://formitize.com you can login to your Formitize Dashboard by clicking on the ‘login’ button, which is located in the right corner of the top navigation bar. 

 

2. Updated Formitize Dashboard Design

What: We redesigned the Formitize (Desktop) Dashboard in line with the updated design of our website. 

Why: Technological devices are advancing at a rapid pace. With the redesign of our Formitize Dashboard, we have ensured that your business information is being displayed in the best possible way.

Benefits: Your updated Formitize Dashboard allows for easier navigation and a more pleasant user experience. Even though we continuously make small changes to our dashboard, this major refresh really took your Formitize Dashboard to the next level.

Kickstarting your 2023: With your updated Dashboard design, it will be so much easier to find your modules, preferred actions and the information you are looking for. Did you know that you can customise your Formitize Dashboard to make it completely your own by adding your logo and custom colours?

This guide also covers your company details and invoice settings. If you've been a Formitize user for a while: this is a great time to check if all your details are correct and up to date.

3. Updated Scheduler 

What: The Cloud Scheduler has been completely redesigned with a fresh new look and a whole range of new functionalities.

Why: The Scheduler is one of our most used modules and has been completely redesigned and updated to make it easier than ever to manage jobs.

Benefits: Updating our scheduler has brought you additional features, such as the ability to view your map (and route between jobs) in 'Day View'. Additionally, the updated scheduler allows you to customise your scheduler exactly to reflect the data that you would like to see. Your data. Your way.

Kickstarting your 2023: We have introduced the possibility to view your ‘Map view’ in ‘Day view’. Before this update, ‘Map view’ was only available in ‘Week view’. This new update allows you to view your jobs of the day, as well as the order of jobs and their location in one single view.

Having this overview allows you to make smarter choices on how to limit travel time between jobs. Are you really interested in saving the most possible time you spend on the road? Read more about Smart Job Routing; the tool that really does get you home early.

4. Smart Job Routing (Paid Add-on)

What: This new feature allows you to automatically calculate the most efficient route and order of your jobs to minimise travel time. This helps our users save time and petrol and could be an amazing way to scale your business.

Why: Many of our clients have requested Smart Job Routing. We truly believe that we can only win if our clients win. 

Benefits: With Smart Job Routing we launch a feature that helps Small Business compete with the big guys and allows our larger clients to work more efficiently.

Kickstarting your 2023: If you could spend less time in traffic so you could choose between getting home early or taking on more work, would you do it? If the answer to this question is yes, you should really try Smart Job Routing.

Our innovative add-on will calculate the most efficient route between jobs and is able to reorder those jobs to ensure you do get home early or are able to squeeze in one or more jobs; your choice!

5. Smart Tables

What: Data tables are the tables that display your unique  information in your Formitize Dashboard. Data tables can be found in many modules, including your Jobs Module, CRM Module and your Forms Module. We have upgraded our Data Tables from static tables to Smart Tables.

Why: We want you to feel that your Formitize Dashboard is YOUR Dashboard. Releasing Smart Tables allows our users to completely customise their data, their way!

Benefits: Smart Tables allow our users more control over the way their data is being displayed. With Smart Tables, you can save (multiple) custom views, share views with other members of your team and filter your data more easily by adding one or multiple filters.

Kickstarting your 2023: Wouldn’t it be great to be able to view the data that is actually relevant to your business or your role within the organisation? With Smart Tables, you can customise your data tables, save multiple views and share those views with your team members or colleagues.

6. Quick Actions

What: We have added 'Quick Actions' (quickly creating a form, task, job, etc.) to the top navigation bar in your Formitize Dashboard.

Why: Formitize aims to make your business administration and workflow management as easy as possible. Adding Quick Actions to your Dashboard allows you to create the platform’s most common task with the click of a button.

Benefits: With the release of Quick Actions, users no longer have to leave the page they’re working in to quickly create an action. Another benefit is that your current progress won’t be lost as users don’t have to leave their page to trigger a quick action.

Kickstarting your 2023: As we mentioned at the beginning of this article, we aim to help businesses work smarter, not harder. With our newly introduced quick actions, you can complete your most common and important tasks with the click of a button.

7. Form progress 

What: We have included the ability to see the live status of a form within your job card. A job card is the page with all the relevant information to a specific job; like client details, 'employee assigned' and forms attached to this specific job type template.

Why: When you work in a larger team and/or another person is in charge of your business administration, great communication between team members is essential for successful collaboration. Adding the ability to view the live status of a form makes it so much easier to view if action is required from either the administrator or technician, and if so: what action should be taken and by whom.

Benefits: Easier collaboration, more efficient communication and preventing specific forms from not being completed on time.

New Mobile App 

What: We are launching a brand new mobile app for Smartphones and Tablets in 2023.

Why: Our new mobile app will offer a similar experience on mobile devices as our users currently have when using their Formitize Dashboard. This will enhance the user experience of our clients who mainly use Formitize on their mobile device. 

Benefits: Our users can look forward to a completely new Formitize experience on their mobile devices this year. Our new mobile app will give you so much more functionality to manage your jobs, forms, contacts and information without ever having to login to your desktop or laptop. Furthermore, our new mobile app will increase the efficiency of communication between office staff and technicians. We can’t wait to show you a preview of our mobile app design in the near future!

Client Portal

What: Permission-based Client Portal for end-user access enabling your customers to Accept Quotes, Pay Invoices, Review Form Reports, Request Jobs and more. Give your clients the information they need and improve the customer experience.

Why: A Client Portal truly gives your business the edge. Instead of depending on solely emailing important information to your customers, they will soon have access to their own Client Portal with all their information safely and securely in one place.

Benefits: Working with a Client Portal to allow your clients easy access to important information gives you a massive advantage over your competitors who still only email or post their information to their clients. Clients want their information quick and they want to know it’s stored securely. Formitize users will be able to add-on this Module to their Formitize Account in 2023. 

Automated Onboarding and Support

What: Automatic Help Guides that guide you through your support questions or account setup  in real time. 

Why: Formitize aims to make its platform as user friendly as possible, whilst at the same time offering a complete business platform for any business - large or small.
